Bruce, Alexis and I wrote three different columns. They all came to one conclusion. To be the best property buyer you can be you should continue to educate yourself.
Truly this is the reason for this publication. Its purpose is to expose its readers to the varying methods buyers of distressed property can use to make money. Some may find our conclusions self-serving. After all, we are teachers of beginning through expert education on property buying. But actually the advice is more from experience.
One of the first people Bruce Norris introduced Alexis and I to was Jim Rohn [I believe two quotes attributed to him grace these pages]. Jim is a teacher of attitude. Two hours of listening to him stokes my internal fire better than anyone else, including his best student – Anthony Robbins.
Late this month Alexis and I plan to go to Tom Hopkins three-day boot camp. We have both been in sales most of our lives, but we know there is more. Professional property buyers must seek out these and other teachers.
Yes, I think as a primer for this business, there is no better program than our own, “Getting Started in Foreclosures.” I know that in two days a beginner buyer becomes an functional intermediate in our, “The Six Steps to Mastering Foreclosures.” And Bruce Norris’ “Power Profits Workshop” and “Mentoring Boot Camp” are without peer teaching advanced techniques.
But even after attending these programs, don’t stop there. Go to Chester Karras and learn to negotiate. Take Tom Hopkins sales training. Read Jerry Vass’ “Soft Selling in a Hard World” [The new edition should be available about the time your read this]. Take a class on home repair, electric wiring, self-contracting from the community college or learning exchange in your area.
Don’t stop learning!
